READ OUR STORY
Shortly after college graduation, I got my first "big girl" job. I was one of the lucky ones who landed a job as a graphic designer straight out of college. I was so thankful, even though it was a lot closer to home than I had planned. So close in fact that I moved back in with my parents while I found a place to rent.
I loved what I was doing but soon I realized that a windowless cube wasn't the life for me. I craved a day where I could make my own schedule. I yearned for a career that would have enough variety that I wouldn't get bored. But mostly, I needed a job that would fill my heart with so much joy that I didn't dread waking up on Monday.

I didn't know what I was going to do, but I knew I couldn't keep living like this forever. And then I met a guy. Y'all this guy was like the feeling of fresh air entering your lungs after you held your breathe as long as possible underwater. He showed me how great the world could be if open my eyes. He inspired me to take the leap and go after what I wanted in my life!
So I started educating myself and learning everything I could about photography. I knew it was the one thing that truly brought me joy. I knew it wouldn't be easy. I knew people would judge me. I knew people would be hesitant to trust a new photographer, but I did it anyway.

THE ONE
I spent six straight months reading, learning and absorbing as much information as physically possible. Then I finally built up the nerve to put it out into the world! That first year was nerve-racking, stressful but more than anything BEYOND AMAZING!
Before every session, I was a bundle of nerves but I would leave with a heart so full it was impossible to ignore. There is never a day that goes by that I am not eternally grateful for those first few clients that trusted me when I first started out. Shoutout to my main girl, Danielle, for trusting someone who didn't even have a portfolio yet!

After that first year things really started to take off! We started booking wedding and filling our calendar, we started our Snitker Spokesmodel team, we got not one but two puppers and to wrap it all up, I got engaged to the guy that pushed me to go after my dreams.
Now, I'm a wedding and portrait photographer who lives just three minutes from her childhood home. I’m living a life fueled by a passion for helping others see themselves as I see them. And as if my job wasn’t awesome enough, I get to do this along side my husband (and our two pups)!!! So much of our story has led us to where we are today and for that I am eternally grateful.

I 100% recommend Megan for any type of pictures you need but I have to brag about my wedding with her. I was in tears looking at some of the pics she captured and also laughing till my stomach hurt at others. She captured every single moment I asked of her. I’m sure your mind is racing with all that needs to be planned. It’s all very exciting but it can also be somewhat overwhelming. You’re planning the day that you’ve been anticipating your whole life and yet you only get one shot at it! By the time you get the hang of it, the planning is over! Our goal as wedding photographers is to make this one aspect of the planning process simple. Photography is more than just images, it’s a real part of your day. Not only do you deserve beautiful images, you also deserve an amazing photographic experience. When our couples feel comfortable and relaxed in front of the camera, that results in genuine, joyful images! Your wedding day is an experience from beginning to end and your photography is a huge part of that experience..... shouldn’t it be fun? and enjoyable? and natural? I think so! The difference that defines the price of each package is: length of wedding day coverage, and size and quantity of products included. Otherwise the service and experience is the same. Packages are offered at eight, ten and twelve hours of coverage.

Now for my favorite part (other than the cake at the reception, of course!)
After you book, we’ll schedule your engagement session. And don’t worry... I’ll teach you EVERYTHING! I put my couples into comfortable poses, but then get them to interact naturally and hopefully start giggling! Even if you think you’re not photogenic or if your fiancé “hates having pictures taken”, you will be killing it after a few minutes have gone by! That’s all the time we need to get rid of nerves and start capturing the joy of this new season of your life together!
After your engagement session you’ll be featured on the MSP Blog and will also be sent your online gallery of images to download and share however you wish. Most couples receive 70-100 images from their two hour session and galleries provide a mixture of tradition portraits, joyful portraits of you two interacting together, as well as a few detail shots of that new bling!
You choose your own location, but if you're stumped I have plenty of ideas of spaces that work splendidly for sessions! I travel up to sixty miles one way without a travel fee, so that gives us options from Decorah to and everything in between. If you're looking for something a bit more unique, let's talk and see what we can make happen!
ENGAGEMENT SESSIONS
All MSP wedding packages include a complimentary engagement session. This is an important time for us to get to know each other as well as to get you familiar and comfortable in front of my camera. Engagement sessions are two hours long, and include your choice of location and up to three outfit changes.
MY STYLE
I am a natural light photographer, utilizing a style described as "light and bright." I prefer bold and vibrant colors, and up close portraits. I want your photos to look timeless, meaning they won't look outdated in forty years. I expose images so that your skin tones look their absolute best. I include landscapes as possible, but making you look good is my number one priority. I will achieve traditional poses as well as fun images based around your natural interaction.
DIGITAL FILES
Your engagement session and your wedding day include all the professionally edited images available as a digital download. You will receive the link to an online gallery and from there you can share your images, download the full resolution files, and even order pro prints. Most engagement sessions deliver 75-125 images and most 10 hour wedding days deliver between 700 and 900 images.
COVERAGE
The length of time needed for your wedding depends on the order of events, drive time between locations, and what events you would like photographed. I don't shoot anything less than 6 hours and 12 hour weddings will include complete documentation from the details to the dancing!
BOOKING
Booking with Megan Snitker Photography is a simple process that is all completed electronically. After you decide we are the ones to capture your special day, you will be sent an electronic contract and invoice. You are officially a "Snitker Sweetheart" once the contract is signed and the nonrefundable retainer is paid. I ask for a retainer of 25% to hold your wedding date. This will complete the booking process! I try to make the booking process pain free and exciting, so if you have questions or concerns at any point, please let me know immediately.
